Cláudia Rudge visual artist
At eighteen, Cláudia Rudge chose to live in a forested region of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, far from urban life, without electricity or modern means of communication. She remained there for twenty-five years, establishing an ecological reserve and an agricultural operation. This formative experience shaped her sensibility and artistic trajectory.
Born in São Paulo, Rudge is a visual artist whose practice encompasses drawing, painting, photography and video. Her work explores the delicate relationships that ground our belonging in the world. Line is its guiding thread: rather than defining form, it makes these relationships visible, weaving connections between beings, spaces and temporalities.
It unfolds in series, some developed over many years as germinal cores in constant transformation. Time and scale are essential elements of her practice; scale becomes a language, reconfiguring the relationship between the work and the viewer.
