So, let\u2019s revisit the square to find the tree.\u201d<br \/>Frans Krajcberg<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6b64c46 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6b64c46\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b1bdc56 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b1bdc56\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn \u2018Greatness\u2019,\u00a0 I portray trees by articulating drawing and photography.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The juxtaposition of these two media does not seek merely the formal addition of techniques,<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but the creation of a hybrid territory, where the boundaries between line and photographic<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> record become tenuous. This crossing promotes the deconstruction of the conventions of <\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">each language, allowing the emergence of new forms of perception, inscription, and<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> presence of the image. These portraits are at once indexical and iconic, and cease to be<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reproducible. Here, the black-and-white photograph is enlarged beyond its limits, in order to <\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reach the scale of each tree. To this broad vision of the whole, revealed through<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> photography, I add the vision of detail, realized through the precision of charcoal drawing,<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which faithfully renders certain aspects of the tree, like a face.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Photography and drawing strive to create an image in the very dimension of each tree.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This work is carried out in modules: the enlarged photograph is divided and printed in parts. Its <\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dimension is determined in relation to each tree portrayed. The drawings are likewise made in <\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">parts, each corresponding to the format of its photographic fragment.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final result is composed of the gathering of all photographic and drawn parts.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The use of juxtaposed modules is a poetic strategy: each panel is a fragment of a larger<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> image that sometimes remains unfinished or impossible to be fully seen.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This approach creates a non-sequential experience, requiring the physical movement of the <\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">viewer and promoting an embodied and decentered reading of the work.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In \u2018Greatness\u2019, I work with paper and charcoal, fragments of carbonized trees.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026in drawing, the charcoal remembers that it is a tree and that it can reveal its essence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c6ac956 elementor-align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-button\" data-id=\"c6ac956\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"button.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-button elementor-button-link elementor-size-sm\" href=\"https:\/\/www.claudiarudge.com\/en\/trabalho\/grandeza\/\" target=\"_blank\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-button-content-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-button-text\">pictures<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>greatness, ongoing series since 2021 \u201cIf Mondrian went from the tree to the square, he simply knewhow to take advantage of one of the infinite possibilities of thetree.
